Joomla 1.5.15 Update

Saturday, February 6th, 2010

The release of the Joomla 1.5.15 update saw the fixing of 60 issues related to the previous version of Joomla. The update is released 3 months after the release of Joomla version 1.5.14.

Two security issues were fixed in the version 1.5.15 with one of them being a moderately prioritized item and the other one with a low priority. Both of them were core issues and involved front-end editing as well as XML file view.

There were fixes as well as changes done to all parts of Joomla except for its Legacy files. The plugins part of Joomla had some of the most fixes as well as changes done to it followed by the systems files. Administration on the other hand had only one fix and that is regarding the FTP.

Some issues that were fixed worth mentioning is the PHP 5.3 compatibility issue. Users that are using PHP5.3 on their server can have a breath of relief as the issue is no longer a problem and was fixed by the Joomla development team.

Like all updates, it is highly recommended to apply the update as soon as possible so that the user will encounter minimal problem. Those wanting to view the changelogs can do so here.
