A new theme to look at today is the Lonnbarda. It is a new free theme that is widely distributed amongst free Joomla template sites. Lonnbarda is compatible with both Joomla version 1.0 as well as 1.5 making it suitable for all Joomla users worldwide.

Lonnbarda is a template suitable for a news or a magazine website as the layout of it suits these two type of sites mentioned. The template incorporates a clean look that is popular amongst news and magazine websites.

There is a lot of black, white as well as orange used in the template. This isn’t a bizarre combination and frankly, it does make the site looks fashionable in a way as well. A slideshow located at the upper part of the website makes it not only elegant, but also informative. A lot of information can be shown at the home page. The template allows for five different tab items which can place different information in each tab. In addition to that, up to five articles or excerpt of articles can be shown at the front page as well.

All in all, Lonnbarda is a great template for any magazine or news website. In fact, with the template being free, there is no reason not to get it as well. So search for Lonnbarda in any of the preferred search engines.

New Joomla Templates by JoomlArt – JA Lime

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

JoomlArt is famous for bringing great templates to the Joomla community. For the month of February, JoomlArt decided to showcase a new magazine template for its extensive database.

JA Lime incorporates three main colors which is the shade of blacks, red and white. In a first glance, users would see that the theme looks extremely simple but yet it has that hint of professionalism as well. However, due to the usage of white, it does make the website seems empty in a way.

The overall layout of the website isn’t centered by default like most websites on the Internet. Instead, it is aligned to the left. This difference would be very noticeable to people that are using high resolution screens as it makes the eye look at the left side instead of the center.

The usage of slideshow gives the template the magazine aura that it deserves to get. Currently there are three different slideshows at its demo page. However, users can add more slideshows should they wish to once they have purchased this theme.

All in all, the JA Lime looks very fashionable and with a little tweaking, it would make a good template for any website. Its simplicity may be its best trait as well.
