Webmasters using Joomla as the base of their site do not just use it as it is. They must adopt some of the many Joomla Extensions that are available at its database. There are thousands of extensions available and some of these are free and there are also those that will cost the user some money if not a significant amount of money.
However, this list for today is for those wanting to use some of the open source (free) extensions available at its depository:
JoomlaPack – No other extension helps the user better when it comes to backing up their sites other than JoomlaPack. It is free and definitely handy for those wanting to create regular backups of their website.
Community Builder – This extension is more fondly called as CB amongst Joomla owners. It creates a great community and it also has a lot more addons available in addition to its extension. However, those wanting to get this application will find themselves having to register to a couple of sites.
SignalLogin – SignalLogin on the other hand helps the user in customizing how their login block would look. In addition to that, those wanting the login feature to be passed through encryption (SSL) can also use this marvelous extension.
JCE – The WYSIWYG editor on Joomla is nothing compared to this one. It is a lot more powerful with an interface similar to a word processor. Spell checking is also possible as the extension integrates the Google SpellChecker inside it.
